OHSAS 18001 is under revision process and a revised document is expected up to the end of 2006. Nevertheless, it is not necessary to wait, because no big changers are expected. Besides that objectives of the current revision are to clarify some requirements and align the standard to the new ISO 14001:2004.
Yes. Some local accreditation bodies have already developed
accreditation schemes, and Bureau Veritas Certification is accredited in almost all of these countries. Besides that, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service has launched an accreditation scheme that must be completed by the first semester of 2007.
